Call for Letters of Interest

The Steering Committee of ECSA invites Letters of Interest (LoI) from teams interested in hosting future editions of ECSA, starting with ECSA 2028 and subsequent years.

Why Host ECSA?

Since 2007, ECSA has established itself as the premier European Conference on Software Architecture and one of the two leading international venues in the field. ECSA brings together researchers, practitioners, and educators, to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research, and shape the future of software architecture.

Hosting ECSA offers a unique opportunity to:

• Strengthen national and international collaborations between academia and industry.
• Engage researchers, practitioners, and sponsors in a flagship international event.
• Leave a lasting impact on the ECSA community and the broader software engineering field.

The ECSA Steering Committee works closely with organizing teams and provides guidance throughout the planning and execution process.

Who Should Apply?

We particularly encourage proposals that broaden ECSA’s geographical reach and strengthen engagement with practitioners, industry, and emerging software architecture communities.

What Should the Letter of Interest Contain?

The Letter of Interest is intended as a lightweight first step that allows the Steering Committee to identify and support prospective organizers. Please note that there are more steps in the evaluation procedure as indicated in the ECSA Charter.

The LoI should include:

• the proposed General Chair (name and short CV, including experience on organizing international conferences),
• the location (general presentation of the potential venue and the city),
• a preliminary list of organizations supporting the proposal, including academia, research institutions, industry and sponsors.

Teams may also suggest potential Program Chairs and other Organizing Committee members, although these appointments are subject to the procedures defined in the ECSA Charter.

Important Information

ECSA is held annually in Europe, typically in September. Since its inception, the conference proceedings have been published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
